Summary edit

Description

(1 in a multiple picture album) Hoodoos are what is left when wind and water break down a sandstone formation until only the harder center is left. These hoodoos are wonderful to study. No two are the same. The indigenous people thought that each was a departed ancestor and so this canyon was sacred to them. Bryce gets less press than Zion, Arches or the Grand Canyon. But for beauty it does not have to bow to them.

Note the trails which lead people from the rim down into the canyon to walk among the amazing formations.
