Summary edit

Description

Horisme sp., to MV light, Aranda, ACT, 24/25 November 2008

Very close to pictures ascribed to Eucymatoge scotodes Turner, 1904 in Moths of Victoria, Part 3 - Waves and Carpets, but the specimens in ANIC under that name are very different. MoV3 indicates that Victorian specimens of E. scotodes are indistinguishable from those of Horisme mortuata (Guenée, [1858]). ANIC specimens in BOLD of H. mortuata are much paler than this moth. However those in BOLD from the Research Collection of Egbert Friedrich under the name H. mortulataEF01 are very close indeed. It seems therefore that this moth is very likely to be a species of Horisme.
