Det er mange vi kan velge mellom i den familien som må ha vært opphavet til navnet. Ingen av familiens medlemmer ser ut til å ha bodd i selve veita. En av slekten, Heinrich Hornemann, hadde sin bakgård mot veita, så det kan være ham. Det er også en mulighet for at veita tidligere har gått i vinkel, og at Krambuveita har hatt dette navn.
