Summary edit

Description
English: Horses grazing on Buckland Rings These horses are grazing on the grassy slope which (before the 18th century levelling) was once the triple-banked rampart of Buckland Rings iron-age camp. Early antiquarians thought the camp to be Roman in origin because it is almost rectangular, but more modern archaeological methods have shown it to date from before the Roman conquest.
