Français : Hospice Saint-Charles, Québec « En 1870, les Sœurs du Bon-Pasteur ouvrent une école de réforme. Elles achètent une maison sur la rue Saint-Amable (auj. Jacques-Parizeau), au coin de la rue de la Chevrotière, pour y installer leur nouvelle école. La mission officielle de l'œuvre est la «préservation des enfants exposés à la dépravation à cause de parents irresponsables». Elle connaît un tel succès qu'on en vient à manquer de place. On construit donc un nouvel édifice, sur la même rue, mais au coin de la rue Berthelot (auj. De Senezergues). Il ouvre ses portes en 1876, alors que l'ancien édifice est détruit par les flammes. » – Société historique de Québec |
