Description

DESCRIPTION: The principle of Hough transformation applyed to circle detection. Each point on the grey circle (we must detect this) votes (centreX, centreY, radius)s in the 3D Hough space. For a point on the grey circle (here we have the leftmost one), many circles that pass the point can be drawn (e.g. red, green, blue ones). Given a (centreX, centreY) pair, a radius is detemined as shown in the equation below. Then (centreX, centreY, radius)s can be plotted in the Hough spaece as a curved surface that you can see on the right panel. This procedure should be repeated for each data point and crossing points of the surfaces should be determined. Resulted crossing point would represent the grey circle in the left panel.
