Description
English: Looking east into the William F. Passannante Ballfield, at the northeast corner of Sixth Avenue and West Houston Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. The park was built on land condemned for the construction of the IND subway. More than likely, the IND Sixth Avenue line runs under the park as it curves east from Sixth Avenue (south of West 4th Street) onto Houston Street. On another note, while there is a certain NYC charm to paved baseball/softball fields, they should all be turf by now. So, ya know, they can be used for baseball.
