Description
English: When we think of a bridge crossing the Hoogly (sic), we always think of the Howrah Bridge or Rabindra Setu. There is now a new and equally impressive second bridge now, the Vidyasagar Setu, also known as second Hooghly Bridge. This bridge is built on the lines of the Golden Gate Bridge (there is an identical one in Bangkok as well) and connects the twin cities of Calcutta and Howrah. The morning rush hour scenes from this bridge mind blowing. With 9 lanes of traffic routes the bridge is capable of handling more than 85,000 vehicles every day. (May 2009_
