Summary edit

Description
English: Jones Valley Elementary School in Huntsville, Alabama had been a two-story building prior to the November 15, 1989 tornado. This damage photographed the following day shows that the storm removed the top floor entirely. All 37 students who were in the after school program survived because those running the program went directly under the stairs when the power went out, not waiting for a tornado warning to be issued. One parent outside died in her vehicle.[1]Photographed by NWS Birmingham during their storm survey.
