Summary edit
DescriptionHuman Cell Groups distributed by Cell Count and by Aggregate Cell Mass.jpg |
English: This figure represents cell counts and biomass (aggregate cell mass) for the major human cell groups in a defined 70kg adult male. The cell counts and associated cell mass are derived from ~1500 scientific references and are accessible at The Human Cell Treemap (https://humancelltreemap.mis.mpg.de/). Organ and tissue mass is based on the Anatomical and Physiological Data from the International Commission on Radiological Protection Publications (ICRP-23, 70, 89, 110, 145). The cell groups are derived from the aggregation of 400 human cell types distributed throughout ~60 human tissue systems.
The table in this article provides the numerical data used to generate the relative sizes for the major cell groups depicted in the above graphic. |
