| Description |
English: Huntingdon station, ECML 1992. View northward on the Up platform, towards Peterborough and the North: ex-GNR East Coast Main Line. Named 'Huntingdon North' until 15/6/64, Huntingdon East on the ex-GER line to Cambridge having closed in 9/59 and a connection between the two was abandoned in 1962. This station was extensively rebuilt and the former single Fast line doubled by 1980; electrification from King's Cross was extended from Hitchin to Peterborough in 1987. An Up stopping service with an EMU is arriving. Beyond is the massive new viaduct of the A14 Relief road. |
