| Description |
English: Hurleston Junction, Cheshire. This is the junction of the Shropshire Union (Llangollen) Canal with the main line. Hurleston Roving Bridge (roving meant it allowed the towpath across the canal without the need to unhitch the horses) allows the Shropshire Union canal main line to the south, Nantwich, and Wolverhampton at Autherley. To the left is the way to Chester (and the River Dee) and Ellesmere Port (and the Manchester Ship Canal). Here, narrowboat "Elbereth" awaits its passage up the Hurleston flight of locks. |
