Description
English: The Hyaku-shaku Kannon (百尺観音, Hundred-shaku Kannon), is a 99-foot-high relief image of Bodhisattva Kannon at Nihon-ji[1] on Mt. Nokogiri[2] in Kyonan Town[3], Chiba Prefecture. This image was carved for the souls of those who died in the war, illness, or car accidents. It began in 1960 and was carved into one of the quarry walls for six years.
日本語: 百尺観音は、千葉県鋸南町のこぎり山にある日本寺にある菩薩観音の高さ99フィートのレリーフ像です。この像は、戦争、病気、または交通事故で亡くなった人々の魂のために彫られました。1960年に始まり、彫刻を終えるのに6年かかりました。
