Description Introduced, warm-season, perennial, erect, tufted grass to 1 m tall. A native of Africa, it is found on roadsides where it is often abundant. Also occasionally found in other disturbed, often compacted low fertility areas, but rarely in pastures. Tolerant of a wide range of soil types and is very drought tolerant.
