Text Appearing After Image: Fig. 74.—Virginal hypertrophyof the breasts in a Hindu girl 17 yearsold. (Maitland.) Fig. 73.—Hypertrophy of the breasts in 1Chinese woman. (TatcheU.) in appearance, in others has tubules that are dilated and lined with cuboidal cells. Albertfound diminution of elastic tissue. In a few cases there was preponderance of adipose tissue (cases of Rosenfeld andGuthrie and Albert). Guthrie and Albert have suggested that this is a different processfrom hypertrophy, and have suggested that it be called adiposity. In these cases thereis relatively Uttle glandular parenchyma, though what is found resembles that seen inthe other cases. It is interesting to note that the enlargement of the glandular tubules and the oc-currence of spaces lined by cuboidal epithelium are not a little like the changes seen incases of the disturbance known as chronic cystic mastitis or abnormal involution. The size attained by the hypertrophied breasts is almost beyond belief. In mildgrades and in the early stage
