Ach., 1803] (photograph of a herbarium specimen taken through a dissecting microscope (x40) showing squamules with powdery soredia on the underside of each squamule) Growing on bark at the base of Pinus virginiana L. in a Pine-Oak woods about 100 yards downhill from Red Dog Lodge, at Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA; collected by Elmer G. Worthley, and identified by Arnold Norden (No. L-467, 8 Jan 1984); specimen is now in the Lichen Herbarium of the New York Botanical Garden. |
