Summary edit

Description
English: The IBM PC Convertible was the company's first battery-powered laptop. Earlier models were portable but not particularly practical as they were bulky and dependent on mains power. It was also IBM's first computer with surface-mounted components and the first laptop with 3.5-inch floppy disks. The model was not a sales success. IBM was a leader in the development of portable computers for a long time, the first came in 1975. The donor was a product manager at IBM. He lent this computer to IBM's customers as an extra service.
