Summary
editDescriptionI Dood It club membership card.jpg | Membership card for the Red Skelton "I Dood It!" club. Membership was based on the purchase of WWII War Bonds and appears to have been broken down by state. This is a card from the Oregon branch of the club. Members had to use 100% of their income to buy War Bonds in the month they joined. Not sure that many adults would have been able to do this, so the club may have been geared toward children. Skelton played "Junior" on his radio program and this was what "Junior" said after getting into mischief--"I Dood It!". The character was popular with both children and adults. Skelton also used his radio show in 1943 to fund a bomber to be given to the Soviet Union to help fight the war. |
