The two ladies sitting at the foot of the steps fortunately moved off pretty quickly, and so I was able to take this shot of the almost vertical set of steps leading up the walls and to the bastion of the Gobindgarh Fort in Amritsar. My sis in law loved this view. I like it how they have created a barrier using a touch of history (a shield and two cross spears) rather than a thick chain with a notice 'Visitors not permitted beyond this point'- that would have ruined the view completely.
