Fotografia wykonana przez Ignacego Płażewskiego przy al. Politechniki. Na pierwszym planie widać siedzących na ławce mężczyzn. W dalszym planie znajdują się kobieta i mężczyzna, którzy spacerują wzdłuż ulicy. W tle budynki elektrociepłowni EC-2.

Budowę elektrociepłowni rozpoczęto w czerwcu 1954 r., a niecałe trzy lata później funkcjonował już pierwszy kocioł oraz turbina. Zakład otrzymał patrona 19 lipca 1960 r., a stał się nim Włodzimierz Lenin (właśc. Władimir Iljicz Uljanow). Ostatecznie prace budowlane zakończyły się w 1961 r. Elektrownia zakończyła swoją pracę z końcem marca 2015 r.
