Description
Fotografia przedstawia widok ulicy Piotrkowskiej od strony ulicy Więckowskiego w kierunku Placu Wolności. Widać tory, ponieważ w 1960 roku Piotrkowską kursowały tramwaje, potem linie zostały przeniesione na sąsiednią ulicę Zachodnią, natomiast torowisko pozostało jeszcze przez kilka lat. Pod numerem 24, po prawej stronie jest widoczna restauracja z dancingiem "Peszt". Po tej samej stronie widać neon „Eldomu”, oferującego artykuły AGD. W oddali znajduje się pomnik Tadeusza Kościuszki, pierwszy raz odsłonięty 14 grudnia 1930 roku. Po agresji Niemiec na Polskę w listopadzie 1939 roku niemieckie władze okupacyjne zburzyły pomnik. Po wojnie odbudowany przy współpracy z twórcą pierwszej rzeźby, Mieczysławem Lubelskim i powtórnie odsłonięty 21 lipca 1960 roku.
