Description

Templo dedicado a São Miguel. É já o resultado de uma remodelação ocorrida no séc. XIX. À medida que Foz de Arouce ia crescendo e a sua população aumentando, a igreja ia sendo melhorada e enriquecida. Na frontaria pode ver-se a mais bela das esculturas de quantas se conservam no concelho da Lousã: um S. Miguel, de estilo gótico, de irrepreensível elegância e que saiu de uma das melhores oficinas coimbrãs do séc. XIV. À direita da frontaria eleva-se a torre sineira, de linhas direitas e cunhais vincados com cantaria viva, e com dois sinos, um datado de 1816 e o outro de 1893. O interior da igreja é amplo e o altar-mor é bastante recente, de talhas douradas, destruido totalmente pelo fogo em Julho de 1998, foi reconstruído em cópia fiel ao anterior pelo talhador Lousanense, José .... A pintura em ouro fino foi executada, por Eliseu e Filho, também eles Lousanenses.
