| Description | A Igreja de Santa Maria de Viade é uma das Igrejas mais antigas do Barroso. Tem vestígios românicos. Possui um cachorro que indica o limite da primeira construção da Igreja. Posteriormente, devido ao aumento da população, esta Igreja sofreu vários acrescentos, sendo exemplo disso o altar e o átrio. Pode ainda comprovar-se que o sino se encontrava na fachada principal, devido ao desgaste que podemos observar na parede, provocado pela gramalheira (corrente de ferro) que era utilizada para tocar o sino. A pedra, com vestígios românicos, que se encontra na porta principal tem um interesse extraordinário pelo facto de não ser comum. Na região de Barroso apenas se conhecem mais três. Nesta Igreja destaca-se a pia batismal, presente no exterior, que tem na sua origem construção românica, sendo que, a parte superior sofreu alterações recentemente. Era nesta pia que, há cerca de mil anos, os batismos eram realizados, uma vez que as crianças não batizadas não podiam entrar na Igreja.
