| Description | A igreja matriz e um templo com certa grandiosidade, construído nos fins do séc. XIX. A frontaria alteia-se em elevada agulha; o interior é de uma só nave. No largo fronteiro à igreja levanta-se o monumento aos beneméritos locais Dr. Joaquim Borges e sua esposa D. Maria Cândida. À direita e atrás da igreja, junto de dois carvalhos, um dos quais de grande porte, levanta-se a ermida de S. Miguel e Nª. Sª. da Saúde (restaurada em 1936), com alpendre. Em frente tem um padrão dos Centenários (1940). Entre as pessoas notáveis aqui nascidas citar-se-ão: o Dr. Jerónimo de Figueiredo, lente de Medicina e Farmácia na Universidade de Coimbra, sócio da Academia das Ciências e autor da Flora Farmacêutica (séc. XVIII -.XIX); seu filho, Dr. Albino Francisco Figueiredo e Almeida, lente da Escola Politécnica, deputado, sócio da Academia, autor de livros sobre matemática, etc.; Dr. Antonio Joaquim de Figueiredo e Silva, irmão do anterior, doutor em Medicina pela Universidade de Mompilher, bacharel em Filosofia, sócio da Academia, etc.; padre Francisco Pires da Costa, geral da congregação de S. Camilo de Lelis, orador, escritor, etc.. Nos meados do séc.
