Description
English: Mechanism of action of salbutamol (left). The β2-adreneceptor agonist (light green) binds to the β2 receptor (purple), which activates adenyl cyclase, resulting in the conversion of ATP to cyclic AMP (cAMP). This promotes bronchodilation and relieves symptoms experienced during an acute asthma episode (right).
