PRANGER
Für Garten- und Felddiebstahl, Hehlerei, Gotteslästerung,
Verleumdung oder in bestimmten Fällen
von Unzucht wurde die Strafe des Halseisens verhängt.
Der Verurteilte mußte in der Regel ein bis
zwei Stunden am Pranger stehen. Meist wurde
die Strafe an Sonn- und Markttagen vollzogen,
um eine besonders abschreckende Wirkung zu
erzielen. Bis zur Einführung des Strafgesetzes von
1839 fand diese entehrende Strafe Anwendung.
