He grad-uated from the grammar school atLakeside and from the Union HighSchool at Snowflake, Arizona, andwhile in the latter school acted aspresident of the student class in hissophomore year, as standard bearerin his junior year and as the classpresident again in his senior year.He also was graduated from theL. Being born of goodly par-ents, he was baptized May 11, 1873,ordained a Priest April 27, 1880, anElder Aug. 31, 1881, by Niels Wil-helmsen, a Seventy Feb. 23, 1885, bySeymour B. Young, and a High Priestby John H. Anderson, Nov. 23, 1928.In the summer of 1879 he was calledby Pres. Niels Wilhelmsen to Copen-hagen, Denmai-k, the headquarters ofthe Scandinavian Mission, to becometranslator and associate editor of Nordstjarnan. He held that posi-tion from February, 1881, to June,1883, when he, with his brother AntonP. Peterson, emigrated to Utah andentered the parental home, in Scipio,Utah, where the parents had settledthe previous year.
