Text Appearing Before Image: ughes); Bodehuyddan^ the fine castle and demesne of Sir Hugh Williams,Bart.; Pengicern, the ancient seat of the Mostyns, now of the Hon. Thomas Pryce Lloyd ;Bodr/iyddan, the venerable seat of the Conways—lately possessed by the Hon. Mrs. Rowley,deceased, although in the Vale of Clwyd, and some of them west of the river, are all in thecounty of Flint, and will be further noticed under the families of that county. The arrangement which in early times fixed the boundaries of Flintshire, following, itmay be presumed, the limits already assigned to the ancient Tegeingl, took for that countya good slice of the marsh and fertile slopes to the west of the Clwyd, including the demesnesof Pengwern and Bodelwyddan, as well as the town and district of St. Asaph ; but it left tothe cantref of Rhyvoniog, ultimately a part of Denbighshire, the valuable manor of Kinmel,now the seat of Hugh Robert Hughes, Esq., who succeeded at Kinmel and Dinorben thelate Lord Dinorben.
