This marriage has beenblessed with three children, namely:Ralph Evans; Blaine P.; and Melvin P. Elder Anderson is a farmer by avo-cation and also active in the dairyand poultry business. He served aspresident of the Lehi Division of theUtah Farm Bureau for several yearsand also as president of the UtahCounty Farm Bureau. ASMUSSEN, Carl Christian, a prominent Elder in the Church wasborn May 20,1825, at Kjoge, Sjaelland,Denmark, the son of Carl PaulusChristian Asmussen and Petra Eliza- beth Henrietta Johansen. He receivedhis education in Denmark where heserved his apprenticeship as a watch-maker. Later he established himselfas a watchmaker in Germany and alsoin Holland. Still later he sought hisfortunes in Australia, where he estab-lished himself as a successful watch-maker and jeweler, and acquired con-siderable wealth. Later he was ordaineda Seventy by Joseph Young, and onMay 1, 1897, he was ordained a HighPriest by Thomas Duce. In 1865 helocated in Salt Lake City where hecarried on a successful watchmakingand jewelry business on Main Street.He filled a mission to Scandinavia in1879-1880, during which he presidedover the Copenhagen Conference.In 1886, while residing in Salt LakeCity, he changed his name from As-mussen to Amussen. Investing in realestate in Logan, Utah, in 1890, helocated there with his family wherehe resided until the time of his deathwhich occurred at Logan Oct. 29, 1902.Elder Asmussen married three wives 84 LATTER-DAY SAINT by whom he raised a large family ofchildren.
