Description

Imhoff-Stollwerck is a well known chocolate manufacturer, and its main plant, on the Rhine River just south of the Cologne Cathedral, is open to the public for tours.

I am in a lovely tasting room, in an atrium that faces the Rhine.

This was one of the best moments I had in Cologne. Actually one of the few good moments. It was a Sunday, and the German "Quiet Day Sunday" laws mean that all non-tourist businesses are required to be closed. Cologne's pedestrian districts are dead quiet. Not exactly the best way to open my first-ever visit of Germany.
