English: Impassable ford of the River Weaver. Woodcotthill Road apparently once forded the River Weaver (left to right foreground) at this point; however, as the depth gauge (4 ft) reveals, the ford is impassable to vehicles. The road is still marked as a ford to the north but as a no-through road to the south. A footbridge (out of view on right; see this image) allows people and bicycles to pass with dry feet. The River Weaver is here the boundary between the Cheshire civil parishes of Newhall and Wrenbury cum Frith. |
