English: Caption text says "Indiana had all the better of the battle with Chicago on Stagg field in the first quarter yesterday. Larry Marks, star back of the Hoosiers, tore through the Chicago line for repeated downs. Above Marks is pictured being tackled by Chicago's secondary defense after puncturing the Maroon forward wall. Marks, with the ball, is shown in the grasp of [William Harvey] Abbott and [Joe] Pondelik of Chicago. After the first quarter the Maroons seemed to have a stronger defense prepared for Marks' dashes and stopped the Indiana star during the last half of the contest after short gains. [Lloyd] Rohrke and [Bill] Zorn of the Maroons are shown above dashing over to back up Abbott and Pondelik in the tackle." |
