Description
Nederlands: Infopaneel over een tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog neergestort Brits vliegtuig. Het paneel staat in de Beverenstraat te Lichtervelde naast het veldkruis Verduyns Kruis. Het vliegtuig stortte op 3 oktober 1918 neer in de naburige wijk Onledemolen in Gits met de inzittende Ludlow Jones die later aan zijn verwondingen overleed. De Australische piloot Jim Cowan viel uit zijn vliegtuig en werd hier nabij het kruis gevonden. Hij werd naast het kruis begraven en zou jaren later overgebracht worden naar een Britse begraafplaats. Bij het kruis is een blijvende herinnering aan Cowan aangebracht.
