In 1988 kwam Kader Abdolah vanuit Iran naar Nederland. Sindsdien groeide hij uit tot een van de belangrijkste Nederlandse schrijvers. Zijn romans, waaronder het in 2011 verschenen ‘De koning’, ademen de sfeer van duizend-en-een nacht. Tijdens dit concert vallen Abdolahs vertellingen samen met de kleuren die de Franse componist Charles Koechlin in ‘Les heures persanes’ oproept. Koechlin - leerling van Fauré en leraar van Poulenc - zette zijn belangstelling voor oosterse culturen om in wonderlijke orkestklanken en verstilde pianopartituren. Ses romans, dont « De koning » (« Le roi »), paru en 2011, respirent l'atmosphère des 1001 Nuits. Lors de ce concert, les contes d'Abdolah se fondent dans les teintes qu'évoque le compositeur français Charles Koechlin dans « Les heures persanes ». Koechlin, élève de Fauré et professeur de Poulenc, a exprimé son intérêt pour les cultures orientales au travers de merveilleuses sonorités orchestrales et des partitions pour piano d'une grande sérénité. English: The author Kader Abdolah and pianist Ralph van Raat take you on a literary-musical journey to the mysterious Orient.Kader Abdolah came to the Netherlands from Iran in 1988. Since then he has developed into one of that country's most important writers. His novels, including 'The King' (2011) exude the atmosphere of the 'thousand and one nights'. In this concert Abdolah's storytelling converges with the colours that the French composer Charles Koechlin evokes in 'Les heures persanes'. Koechlin was a student of Fauré and teacher to Poulenc and converted his interest in oriental cultures into marvellous orchestral sounds and tranquil piano scores. |
