Die Blumen-Insel Mainau, gelegen im Bodensee, genauer gesagt im Überlinger See, nahe der Stadt Konstanz, hat eine Fläche von 0,6 qkm und ist die drittgrößte Insel im Bodensee. Sie gehört zum Konstanzer Stadtteil Litzelstetten und befindet sich im Besitz der schwedischen Adelsfamilie Bernadotte. Durch das Bodenseeklima begünstigt gedeihen dort mediterrane Palmen und andere subtropische Pflanzen. |
