English: The "Inside-Out House", 15 South Putnam Street, Buffalo. Back in 2007, this house was owned by an absentee slumlord and scheduled for demolition when local architects Brad Wales and Frank Fantauzzi, with the help of a group of architects-in-training from their Graduate Design-Build Studio, targeted it as an art project. In addition to the "sideways" facade, which was achieved by simply spinning the original one 90 degrees on a steel track and welding it back into place, they also gutted the interior and opened up the floor plan with a contemporary design much unlike the typical Victorian cloisteredness it sported before. It was seized and auctioned by the city later that year and was purchased by a new owner.
