Summary edit

Description
English: Inside the Red Cone Glass blowing is demonstrated using a modern furnace inside the museum. Even this is sufficient to warm the inside of the cone. A large central furnace was fired up continuously at 1250C and had a dozen openings to allow extraction and reheating of the glass as it was worked on open benches. The Grade 2* listed glass cone dates from around 1790 and is one of four surviving in Britain. It was last used in 1936.
