Description
English: Inspection of Vardø Spy Base: "Stop Star Wars". In June 2004, six individuals from the environmental organization "Ofog" (Swedish: Ofog direktaktion för fred) and two from "Friends of Mother Earth" in Belgium traveled to Vardø in Northern Norway to visit the radar base that covers significant parts of the island. The information collected at that base is used to organize the militarization of space by the United States.
  • GLOBUS is a radar system in Vardø, on the island of Vårberget in Norway. It is operated by the Norwegian Intelligence Service (NIS) and its official uses are primarily space observation and Arctic airspace monitoring for Norway's national interest, though the site's close proximity to known Russian naval bases as well as U.S. involvement in construction and funding have fueled suspicions that it also serves as part of an American missile defense system.
Svenska: I juni 2004 reste 6 personer från Ofog och två från for Mother Earth i Belgien till Vardö i Nordnorge för att besöka radarbasen som täcker stora delar av ön. Informationen som samlas in där används till att organisera USAs militarisering av rymden.
