English: Intake boundaries on Newsham Moor To the northeast of Newsham's Moor Lane is mostly open moorland, but there is one rectangular intake of somewhat improved grazing, originally divided into two fields, but the wall between them has fallen into ruin. The photo was taken from the northeast corner, with the fence and gate on the left adjoining the road. In the snow, it's not clear if the crater in the middle is a shakehole or an old excavation. The leaden sky was indicative of an oncoming front, though the snow didn't start to fall for another four hours or so. |
