Description
English: Interior of All Saints, Cadney cum Howsham Communion table.

Memos inside the book say: -

"This book was on the Communion Table on Saturday Nov 21st 1863, when a sudden but tremendous storm of wind from the North West and hail, carried off all the lead and a considerable part of the roof of the Chancel of Cadney Church (taking both to a considerable distance) throwing down the key stone of the East window breaking the glass (except the painted at the top) smashing the Communion Table top and beside other damage. The time the storm happened was 6 'o' clock in the evening". Edgar Brown Curate

"Chancel completed and used for the first time after the storm and the Holy Communion administered on the 1st Sunday after Easter 1864. The whole of the Church varnished and cleaned July 1864".

S Turner Vicar Francis Bennett Church E Brown Curate Saul? Spencer Wardens R Allan Clerk

"The old chair at the North Side of the Communion Table was first placed there on Saturday 3rd 1864. It was purchased for twenty two shillings by the Rev E Brown off W Smith builder, North Kelsey. He bought it off the Osgerby family of North Kelsey, but it is supposed to have originally belonged to the ancient family of Ayscough". E Brown

"A new blue Communion cloth with monogram (IHS) was purchased by subscription and with hassocks and sufficient cocoa nut matting to cover the inside of the chancel and isles. Presented to and placed in the Church August 1864". E Brown
