Description Tweedbank D9009. Space to get a photo is at a premium on 9 April 2016 soon after the arrival of a Pathfinder special, hauled by D9009. The Borders Railway from Edinburgh had only reopened six months previously, thus restoring a rail passenger service to Galashiels for the first time since closure of the entire line (then known as the Waverley Line) from Carlisle to Edinburgh on 6 January 1969 amidst bitter opposition. A curiosity of the arrival of D9009 was that it was the only one of the 22 production Deltics that had not passed through here pre 1969.
