Description The Iron Bridge Bicentenary sign. The first iron bridge in the world, designed by Thomas Pritchard in 1775 and built by Abraham Darby III in 1777-79. Sign given by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers to Iron Bridge in 1979, on the 200th anniversary of its opening.
