Description
English: The Iron Horse Restaurant, a local bar and restaurant located inside the former Cox's Department Store on the southwest corner of Virginia State Route 54 and southbound South Railroad Avenue in Ashland, Virginia, just feet away from the Northeast Corridor railroad crossing, and the former Ashland Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad Station that has been used by Amtrak since 1985. Taken while on foot
NOTE: South Railroad Avenue has been closed to all wheeled traffic between this intersection and the exit from a public parking lot off of Hanover Avenue since at least mid-2021. Many GPS devices have falsely given drivers misinformation about the road, leading to a series of accident, even some where drivers have tried to use the railroad tracks themselves to use this road. Reliance on these devices for traffic information about this town is strongly discouraged.
