  • Dansk: Herman Voss (1927) og Wilhelm Suida (1957) bekræftede den traditionelle tilskrivning til Morazzone, men i bgyndelsen af 1990erne genkendte Giulio Bora tegningen som et forarbejde til Morazzones efterfølger Isidoro Bianchis store fresco udsmykning i kirken Santa Maria del Ghirli i ampione d'Italia udført omkring 1523. Fresken er anbragt i lunetten over højalteret og følger tegningen i alle detaljer. Tegningen er meget genemarbejdet hvilket tyder på at den er en præsentationstegning udarbejdet på grundlag af mere løse skitser. Skitsen til en Bebudelse på verso er sandsynligvis en studie til samme udsmykning.
