Description
Español: Monumento Dos Banderas en la Isla Martín García, Provincia de Buenos Aires. Entre las tareas encomendadas a la Comisión Administradora del Río de la Plata, se detalla la prevista en el artículo 63 del Tratado, que impone a la Comisión el deber de construir y administrar en la isla Martín García un parque dedicado a la Memoria de los Héroes Comunes a Ambos Pueblos. Este parque se estableció en aproximadamente diez hectáreas de singular belleza natural por las especies vegetales que contiene. En él se erigió en 1979 un monumento cuyo diseño fue adjudicado por concurso al Arquitecto Samuel Flores Flores, de nacionalidad uruguaya. El monumento consiste en dos semi­círculos de piedra que simbolizan la historia entrelazada de la República Argentina y la República Oriental del Uruguay. [1]
