English: Islands in a sapphire sea The cliffs above Marloes Sands provide an excellent view of the just-offshore island of Gateholm, with Skomer beyond and in the far distance the guano-capped islet of Grassholm which is an RSPB sanctuary supporting a large colony of gannets (hence the whitewash!) and other seabirds. Landing is not permitted on Grassholm; Gateholm is accessible at low tide and was a prehistoric settlement. |
