Summary

edit
Description This was pretty much the only springtail by one of the fresh water lakes next to the sea in the Algarve near Loule. Because of the lack of rain, the water had receded right down, leaving rotted matter and algae under a bleached white crust. Underneath were swarms of these- again, so fast that this was the only one I got a photo of in an hour of trying. It was around 28 degrees. Maybe a pale I. palustris?
