English: Short foot path paved with cobbles and pebbles in a recreational hiking area on the shore of the island of Tjøme by the Oslo Fjord, Norway. Photo taken on a spring afternoon in April 2021, showing the coastal landscape and archipelago with smooth slopes of naked rock, boulders, scattered vegetation, etc.
Norsk bokmål: «Den italienske porten» er en kløft på en kort tursti eller gangvei sørvest på Tjøme, en øy på Vestfold-sida av Ytre Oslofjord. Stien går fra skogsområdet like nord for Treidene, gjennom en liten kløft og ned til Kolabekkstranda ved Tønsbergfjorden nord for Mostranda. Det meste er belagt med rullesteiner og mindre granittblokker. Foto tatt en solfylt, men kjølig aprilettermiddag i 2021. Bildet viser kystlandskapet og skjærgården, blant annet med lav- og mosekledde svaberg i granitt (skurt med skrånende helninger mot nord og bratte fall mot sør), steiner, lynghei og annen vegetasjon mot den vindfulle sjøsida, knoppende trær og annet på den lune skogssida.
Hvasser og Tjøme : øyer og skjær i sol og blåst (1998): Det var noen svensker som en gang la opp stein i den trange kløfta ned til havna ved Kølabekk. Siden kom en kunstmaler og malte et bilde med kløfta som motiv. Han kalte bildet «Den italienske porten», og det kom kløfta til å hete.
