Description Ceanothus thyrsiflorus var. griseus—Carmel ceanothus. Found near the coast from Mendocino County south to Santa Barbara County. One of the most widely planted of all California ceanothus. There are several cultivars available, as a quick search of Flickr will confirm. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA
