Deutsch: Lokomotive Nummer 820

Achsfolge 4-8-2 (2’D1’ h2)

Typ 80, Baujahr 1940

Hersteller: Baldwin/USA, Masse: 103,8 Tonnen, Brennstoffverbrauch 22 kg/km

Diese ausgezeichnete Lokomotive war immer im Bw Temuco beheimatet. Die Eisenbahner erinnern sich daran, dass sie eine der am besten gelungenen war. Das zeigt ebenfalls ihr guter Erhaltungszustand.

Die Maschine wurde vor Reisezügen zwischen Temuco und Osorno sowie vor Güterzügen zwischen Temuco und San Rosendo (?) eingesetzt.

Sie erhielt zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre ihre letzte Generalreparatur bei »Maestranza de Concepción«.

(Rest schwer verständlich, »tubos hervidores« könnten Siederohre sein), der Kessel ist jedoch mit einem Thermosiphon ausgerüstet. Sollte es sich dabei um Wasserkammern in der Feuerbüchse handeln?
